Michael Jackson Returns as King of the Pop Charts




Michael Jackson is once again on top of the pop charts. Eight of the top ten album positions on Billboard's Top Pop Catalog Albums chart will be Jackson titles, not including a Jackson 5 compilation that is also in the top ten, Billboard.com reports on the Nielsen Soundscan numbers. Jackson's Number Ones album is appropriately No. 1, while The Essential Michael Jackson and Thriller take the No. 2 and 3 spots. Following those albums his 1979 Off the Wall album at No. 4, his 1987 album Bad at No. 6 and 1991's Dangerous at No. 7. In the digital album arena, Jackson holds six out the top ten spots, including the entire top four spots.
