Tragic Stage Collapse Before Kevin Costner Concert
Kevin Costner is speaking out to "The Insider" about the tragic stage collapse that killed one person and injured as many as 75, prior to a planned performance by Costner and his band Modern West at a country music festival in Alberta, Canada on Saturday night. "We are so saddened by the loss of life and injury that occurred on a day that carried so much promise, but turned so wicked so quickly. We hope to return to Alberta in the future to help with the healing," a spokesman for Costner and his band tells us. The Oscar-winning actor went to the hospital with two of his crew who were injured in the incident. They were treated and released, and Costner visited with others that were injured while there. Producers of the Big Valley Jamboree music festival tell us the stage collapsed under the strain of high winds and heavy rain. "We are deeply saddened by the events of Saturday night," said event producer Larry Werner. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families, fans and friends impacted by this incident."
