Leighton Meester Gets Advice From Cyndi Lauper
Leighton Meester may best be know for her character on Gossip Girl, but the young actress is hoping to gain some recognition as a singer. Did you know that Leighton was a part of the song "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship? I had no idea, but I love that song! To make sure that she breaks into the music industry right, Leighton has been doing some research and spending a lot of time with music legend Cyndi Lauper. "Recently I've spent a lot of time with Cyndi Lauper, and she's a legend," says Meester. "She gave me the advice: Never sell your publishing, so I'll take that." I'm sure advice from someone like Cyndi is really invaluable today! There's also one thing Leighton can get enough of, and that's performing on stage. "I get more excited than nervous, and I feel like that's the best kind of energy to have." The performance, she says, is "cute, sexy ... I'm just having the time of my life, and I hope it continues."
