Michael Jackson's 'Gone' but Never Forgotten
A Michael Jackson documentary titled 'Gone Too Soon' will mark the one year anniversary of the entertainer's shocking death. Ian Halperin, the NY Times Best Selling author of "Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson," is behind the film. According to Variety, 88-minutes worth of 300 hours of footage collected have made the final cut into the doc. Cameras were often rolling on the King of Pop, capturing moments fans and filmmakers will treasure forever. Although the Jackson family was not interviewed for the movie, they are aware of its production. Members of Michael's inner circle did get involved, including his personal manager, chef, spiritual adviser, hairstylist, trainer, protective agent, and the family attorney Brian Oxman. Michael's life was full of scandal and though the film includes these headline grabbing news elements, the film is being promoted as "a balanced tribute," Halperin told Variety. "This is the film Michael and his fans deserve." 'Gone Too Soon' will be screened next month in Cannes. As a tribute to the one year anniversary of Michael's passing, the film will be released in theaters in France and Canada on June 25.[Read full story on The Insider]
