ALEXANDER SKARSGARD'S SILENCE OVER MARINES PAST ALEXANDER SKARSGARD kept his military background hidden from his co-stars in TV war drama GENERATION KILL, because he didn't want to brag about his prior experience at bootcamp. The True Blood star played Sergeant Brad Colbert in the HBO mini-series, based on reporter Evan Wright's experiences with U.S. soldiers during the 2003 invasion of Iraq - and he chose to keep quiet about his 15 months service in the Swedish coastal artillery when he arrived in Namibia to undergo army training with castmates like Twilight star Kellan Lutz. He says, "I didn't want to show up for bootcamp being like, 'Yeah, I know this guys, I was in the Swedish marines for 15 months, so I can tell you all all about it.'" (MJ/WNBTE/KL)
