Melissa Rycroft on Coping with 'Bachelor' Breakup: 'I Cry it Out'

Melissa Rycroft is opening up about her overnight transformation from a jilted "The Bachelor" finalist whose engagement was publicly called off -- to becoming a "Dancing with the Stars" top contender with overwhelming public support and recognition.   In a new interview with People magazine, Melissa says she's surprised that she's recognized by celebs, like "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, who recently spotted her and gave her a big hug: "He was like, 'Heeeeeeey, how are you?'" Melissa tells the mag. "Just three months ago I was on the other side," the 26-year-old tells People. "I am so not a celebrity." Seven days after viewers watched her ex-fiance Jason Mesnick break up with her and opt for a relationship with "Bachelor" runner-up Molly Malaney, Rycroft bounced back as a last-minute replacement on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." But Melissa tells the mag she planned to take her time to deal with her shocking split: "I go through stages," Melissa says. "I will shut down and lock myself in my room. And then I'll get to the point where I can't be by myself and I have to be around other people all the time. Otherwise I’ll drive myself nuts crying. I cry it out. Then one day I wake up and go, I’m okay." You can catch Melissa's fancy footwork on "Dancing with the Stars" Monday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.[Read full story on The Insider]
